Booking and Scheduling

How do I make a studio reservation?

Please send a request through our contact form specifying your preferred dates and times, the service required (such as vocal recording or podcasting), the number of participants, and the estimated duration of the session. Our team will check the availability and respond within 24 hours. Once the booking is confirmed, we will provide a detailed timetable and a checklist for your preparation.

What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?

Cancellations or rescheduling requests are accepted free of charge up to 7 days before the scheduled session start date. For cancellations made within this 7-day window, a cancellation fee will apply according to our internal regulations. For full details on these charges, please refer to the cancellation section of our Terms of Use.

Is a deposit required to secure a booking?

Yes, to finalize your reservation, a deposit of 30% of the total estimated cost is required. This amount will be credited toward your final invoice. Payment instructions and methods will be detailed in the confirmation email sent after your request is approved.

Can clients under the age of 16 use the studio?

For safety reasons and the protection of high-end studio equipment, individuals under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or a responsible adult guardian. Clients aged 16 and over are permitted to use the studio facilities independently.

Recording Sessions

What is the maximum capacity of the studio?

Our facility can accommodate up to 6 musicians simultaneously, including directors. We utilize our Live room, Vocal booth, and Control room to maintain optimal acoustic separation and workflow. If your ensemble exceeds this number, please contact us in advance to discuss potential arrangements.

What kind of equipment is available at Quemadozone?

We provide a professional environment equipped with high-quality tube microphones for rich tonal capture, precise nearfield monitors for accurate mixing, and comprehensive acoustic treatment throughout the rooms to ensure a neutral and controlled sonic environment. If you have specific equipment requirements, please mention them during the booking process.

How should I prepare for my recording day?

For vocalists, we recommend staying hydrated and performing a thorough warm-up before arriving. For instrumentalists, please ensure your instruments are tuned and all necessary accessories are ready. To maximize efficiency, we suggest preparing a lead sheet or a detailed note of the song structure and specific takes you wish to capture. For more tips, see our Guide to Recording Preparation.

Who will be the engineer for my session?

Depending on the nature of your project and availability, your session will be handled by either our Chief Engineer, Hana Shimizu, or our Recording Engineer, Haruto Yamada. Both professionals are experienced in various genres and are dedicated to helping you achieve your desired sound.

File Delivery and Data Management

In what formats will I receive my recordings?

Standard delivery is provided in high-resolution WAV format. We can adjust the sampling rate and bit depth (e.g., 48kHz/24-bit) to match your project's requirements. Upon request, we also provide MP3 versions for quick review. For a detailed breakdown, please visit our guide on File Formats and Delivery.

Can I get multi-track or stem files?

Yes. We can provide individual multi-track files and stems for each instrument and vocal part. This allows for greater flexibility if you decide to perform external mixing or further editing later. Please specify your preferred delivery format at the end of your session.

How long does the studio keep my session archives?

Quemadozone maintains a backup archive of your sessions for 12 months following the completion of the project. We can resend data within this period; however, all data is permanently deleted after 12 months. We strongly advise all clients to maintain their own secure backups.

What is the typical turnaround time for delivery?

Basic recording exports can be provided almost immediately after the session. For projects involving mixing and mastering, the timeline typically ranges from a few days to two weeks depending on the complexity. A specific deadline will be agreed upon during the quoting process.

Mixing and Mastering

How many revisions are included in the mixing/mastering service?

Our mixing and mastering services include up to 3 rounds of revisions free of charge. Requests for a 4th revision or significant structural changes (such as changing the song length or replacing instruments) will incur additional fees.

Do you accept online mixing requests?

Yes. You can send multi-track data recorded at other studios or home setups via cloud storage. We will perform the mixing and mastering at our facility. Please note that additional editing fees may apply if the provided files require significant cleanup or organization.

Who owns the rights to the final master?

The rights to the produced master recording are transferred to the client (or the rightful owner) once 100% of the service fee has been paid. For detailed legal information, please consult our Master Rights and Options guide and the Terms of Use.

What are the payment terms for B2B (corporate) clients?

Corporate clients may utilize invoice-based deferred payment. The payment term is 14 days from the date of invoice issuance. Specific contractual conditions, including the Data Processing Agreement (DPA), will be handled through a separate formal agreement.

Rights and Privacy

Who holds the copyright to the recorded music?

Quemadozone provides the technical facility and engineering services; the copyright of the composition remains with the creator/client. However, if the recorded work includes third-party compositions, the client is solely responsible for obtaining the necessary licenses and clearing all rights.

How is my personal data handled?
